BBQ Country Style Ribs

I made a change to the original recipe I found on the web. It called for 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar. We like things less sweet and used 1/4 cup of honey instead. I think I also added the Essence of Emeril. The sauce got better each time we warmed up leftovers.

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Season ribs with Essence, salt and pepper.
  3. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in oven 15 minutes.
  4. Turn over, and brown another 15 minutes.
  5. In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, chili sauce, honey, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, oregano and Essence.
  6. Pat ribs with wad of paper towels to remove fat.
  7. Place half of the ribs in slow cooker.
  8. Pour ⅓ of sauce over ribs, and turn to coat.
  9. Add remaining ribs. Pour rest of sauce over them and stir.
  10. Cover, and cook on Low 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender.
  11. I did them 8 hours.
